Teaching and Learning
Based on our principle that we teach students rather than subjects, the College offers a broad curriculum aimed at meeting each student's learning needs. Our rigorous, challenging and extensive curriculum includes both academic and vocational streams. It is augmented by an enrichment program for gifted students and a learning support unit which assist students to fully realise their potential.
The College's wide ranging curriculum ensures that each student has the opportunity to make appropriate subject choices, helping him set realistic, acheivable and challenging goals. The College gives students the opportunity to experience success in their studies, provide the basis for success in their lives beyond school, and instil in each student a lifelong love of learning.
In recent years the College has embarked on one-to-one Laptop Computer Program to optimise student learning. This program is an adjunct to our high-quality teaching and learning model that is focused on:
* intellectual quality
* quality learning environments
* recognition of difference
In the senior years, the College ensures that each student has the capacity to take full responsibility for his academic progress and encourages all students to be effective partners in their learning. Students are assisted to develop the requisite skills to be responsible for organisation, life balance, study and the formulation of goals. As a result our curriculum encourages studentsd to use their initiative and become independent learners. High expectations and strong encouragement from the College community provide support for students to succeed in these areas of their development.
